Fun Crafts For Kids
If you’re looking for craft ideas for kids, you’ve come to the right place. Here are some great projects to try out. Paper Weave Placemats, Elephant’s Feet, Marble Maze, and more! Here are a few of my favorite ideas:
Paper Weave Placemats
Children can weave their own placemats with a simple homemade loom. To make paper weave placemats for kids, cut strips of paper about one inch wide from a single sheet of construction paper. These strips will form the pattern for the mat. Then, cut other colorful paper into circles and repeat. Repeat the process until the placemat is full. When finished, laminate the placemat to protect it from stains.

Paper Woven Basket
One of my favorite paper crafts for kids is making a Paper Woven Basket. It is easy to make and my little Lady did most of the weaving and cutting. This was a perfect project for her age and skill level. And it’s easy to store, too. I use an odd number of paper tubes for the rays, so it won’t fall apart when I carry it to the car or to the beach.
Making elephant’s feet
Creating elephant’s feet is a fun way to introduce realism to your drawing project. African elephants use their “pinch” to pick up objects, and we typically do the same with our thumb and index finger. To make your child’s creation more realistic, use overlapping lines and make sure to add details such as the tusks and back leg. Make sure to paint all the corks gray.
Making a maze out of a marble
Making a maze out of a piece of marble is a fun activity for kids. It is a challenge that involves moving marbles to the opposite side of a maze and avoiding falling out. To make the project more interesting, you can get several marbles and fill them up with building blocks so that each marble must find its way through the maze. Your child can then time themselves and see who can complete the maze the quickest.
Making a perler bead bowl
The perfect craft for little hands is making a Perler Bead Bowl. These tiny, colorful balls are inexpensive, easy to work with, and an excellent way to develop fine motor skills and pincer grasp. Perler beads are perfect for young kids because they are inexpensive and the possibilities are endless! In addition, kids will enjoy making this craft for all ages! For a simple, yet impressive craft, print instructions for your kids to follow and place them at the craft table.
Making a toilet paper roll snake
A fun craft for kids is making a toilet paper roll snake. After a trip to the zoo, kids can make their own snake with glue and toilet paper rolls. First, paint the toilet paper rolls different colors. Let them dry. Add details with a paintbrush or marker. You can also glue googly eyes to the snake’s head. Once the snake has dried, decorate it!
